Our Registered Dietitian Tanya L Lopez, passed the Certified Diabetes Educator Exam.
Her name with new credentials are as such: Tanya L Lopez, MS, RD, CDE, CDN

Which all means: Masters of Science in Nutrition, Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, Certified Dietitian Nutritionist

A Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) is a certified health care professional who specializes in educating people with diabetes (as well as their families) on how to manage their condition.
CDE’s have the extensive diabetes knowledge to work one-on-one with patients diagnosed with prediabetes, type I and type 2 diabetes, as well as gestational diabetes to customize a plan to help them control their blood sugar and reach their health goals.

CDE’s can provide the tools, skills and guidance a patient with diabetes may need to self-manage their meal plans, exercise, glucose monitoring and medication to reduce the risk of long-term complications of diabetes.
